A bit about us

United Way Romania is an independent Romanian foundation, affiliated with United Way Worldwide. Since 2004, United Way Romania engages communities of donors and volunteers to inspire and support children and youth to finish their education, adults to achieve financial stability and success, and all of them to stay healthy – the pillars of good life.

Our vision is of strong, supportive communities committed to helping people reach their potential. Our mission is to improve lives in our communities through giving and volunteerism. 

Together, in 2023 we helped over 13,000 vulnerable persons.

• 7,053 children received educational support (formal and non-formal educational activities, literacy activities, education in hospitals or placement centres) and various forms of material support, supplies, warm meals/snacks, clothing/footwear, sanitary products
• 560 teachers from disadvantaged communities participated in courses and professional training sessions organized by United Way
• 2,982 young people, adults. Parents and elderly from vulnerable groups received socio-professional counselling in order to access a qualification course, obtain a job and to ensure a better social integration;
• 2,732 children, adults and elderly who suffer from various health conditions, being at a high degree of poverty, received support for improving their quality of life, food, hygiene products, medicines and medical care.
